El cantante del grupo de rock Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl, dijo el martes que la banda no se estaba separando, pero sí tomando un respiro.

Grohl, de 43 años, alimentó la especulación sobre una posible separación diciendo a sus fans en un festival en Nueva York el sábado que "este es el espectáculo al que salimos e interpretamos tantas canciones como podemos... No sé cuando volveremos a hacerlo de nuevo", según MTV News.

Pero en una carta pública enviada por la representante de los Foo Fighters, Dana West, Grohl dijo que la banda se estaba tomando un respiro pero no tenía intención de disolverse.

"No puedo dejar esta banda. Nunca lo haré. Porque para mí no sólo es una banda. Es mi vida. Es mi familia. Es mi mundo", dijo Grohl.

El cantante dijo que no sabía cuando los Foo Fighters volverían a tocar de nuevo, pero agregó que "es algo bueno para todos nosotros desaparecer un tiempo. Es una de las razones por las que seguimos aquí".

Foo Fighters fue fundada en 1994 por Grohl, el batería de Nirvana, después de la muerte de Kurt Cobain, el cantante líder de aquella banda.

Justice, una de las atracciones de la edición del festival Planeta Terra en Lima, Perú, generó una opinión poco agradable sobre una posible colaboración con Dave Grohl, el líder de Foo Fighters.

"No solemos hacer este tipo de cosas, solo cuando la compañía nos llama para hacer este tipo de colaboraciones y no al revés. En Justice nos gusta hacer las cosas más discreta y si fuéramos a trabajar con Dave Grohl lo haríamos pero haciéndole usar otro nombre", señaló Xavier Rosnay, integrante de la dupla francesa.

Foo Figthers y Dave Grohl coincidieron en uno de los escenarios del festival Reading & Leeds en Inglaterra. El dúo ha realizado remixes de canciones de Los Klaxons y MGMT pero alparecer éstas serán las últimas colaboraciones que realicen en su trayectoria.

“Eso apesta, especialmente cuando estás haciendo música y simplemente tienes una lista de canciones que son todas colaboraciones. Echa a perder todo y pierdes la atención en lo que es importante de la canción”, aseguró Rosnay.

The rain held off, despite earlier fears that T Vital would be hit by heavy downpours.

The lead singer and guitarist told the Reading festival on Sunday that it was the Foo Fighters "last show of the tour and the last show for a long time".

Since then, numerous reports across social media networks and in the press have suggested everything from a lengthy absence by the band to an imminent split.

But Grohl's bemused frustration over the reaction shone through when he posted via the band's official account: "I was only talking TO England!! ABOUT England ..."

It's good news for fans in Northern Ireland because he did promise a return after the warm welcome for the Foos' debut performance, headlining the first night of Tennent's Vital in Belfast.

Recognising how long it had taken for the band to travel to Northern Ireland, Grohl apologised and added: "I promise it won't take so long for us to come back again."

At one point, he asked the 32,000-strong crowd if they got many concerts locally - prompting an overwhelming rumble of discontent.

"So that's why you guys are so much fun!" Grohl laughed.

About 120 complaints were made to Belfast City Council, and a further 20 to police, over the noise.

The gig, which ended promptly at 11pm, was reported to have been heard for miles around - a perk for rock fans without tickets, but less welcome in the households of light sleepers and early risers.

"I like to play my music loud - that's how proper rock and roll should sound." Grohl had declared during the concert, little knowing then the stir his band was about to cause.

The Foo Fighters later quoted AC/DC to their detractors via Facebook.

"A wise man once said ... Rock and Roll ain't noise pollution. Rock and Roll ain't gonna die."

The band have a number of scheduled gigs coming up in the US in September, including the Music Midtown Festival at Piedmont Park in Atlanta and Deluna Fest at Pensacola Beach, Florida.

It's thought they will take some time off after that, having been touring the world for a year - but nothing that should cause fans concern for the future.

Even though the U.K. may be thousands of miles away, it really is a small world when the Internet gets involved. And that is something that Dave Grohl is realizing firsthand this week after making comments Sunday to the Reading Festival crowd that it would be the last time they would see the Foo Fighters for a long while.

Grohl told the audience, “You guys realize we’ve got a lot of songs to play. It’s the last show of the tour and it’s the last show for a long time.” Even though the Foo Fighters still have several U.S. dates ahead, the remark had fans buzzing about a potential hiatus for the group.

However, after seeing enough commentary on the band’s social networking about his comments, Grohl headed to the Foos’ Twitter account to respond:

The group still has a handful of shows planned in the coming month. The Foos recently announced their participation in a Rock the Vote event Sept. 5 at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, and will also perform at Atlanta’s Music Midtown Sept. 21 and Pensacola Beach, Fla.’s DeLuna Fest Sept. 22. They’ll end their string of U.S. dates with a Sept. 29 free show as part of the Global Festival in New York’s Central Park.

While that may seem a little sparse, the tour portion of the band’s website states, “We are coming for you, too. More shows being added here soon.”

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl: It's Our Last Show "For A Long Time" - The Inquisitr

The Foo Fighters just completed an epic set at the Reading Festival in England, playing a total of 26 songs and capping it off by singing happy birthday to Dave Grohl’s mother.

Fans of the band should savor the concert because it might be the last chance they have to see the Foo Fighters for a long time, the New Zealand Herald reported.

The Foo Fighters brought an end to the three-day music festival in Reading after just headlining a show at the festival’s sister site in Leeds, England. Though Dave Grohl didn’t get into specifics, he let the audience know at the end of the concert in Reading that it would be the last time Foo Fighters would play together for a while.

“You guys realize we’ve got a lot of songs to play,” he told the audience. “It’s the last show of the tour and it’s the last show for a long time.”

For Grohl, playing the Reading festival struck a sentimental nerve. He recalled playing the same festival with Nirvana 20 years ago, then dedicated the song “Three Days” to former bandmates Krist Novoselic and the late Kurt Cobain.

“I’d like to dedicate this song to a couple of people who couldn’t be here tonight,” Dave Grohl said. “This one’s for Krist and this one’s for Kurt.”

As Loudwire reported, Dave Grohl’s comments about it being the Foo Fighters last show for a long time could be interpreted a couple of ways. He could have been speaking specifically about the band’s European fans since all of the rest of the band’s shows this year are in the United States. He also may have meant that the Foo Fighters are taking a well-deserved break after playing the Global Festival in New York’s Central Park at the end of September.

However, the band does have a couple of more high-profile gigs at the various festivals throughout September.

Near the beginning of the set, according to NME, Grohl addressed the audience, saying, “Well, well, well. The f—ing Reading festival. You guys realize we’ve got a lot of songs to play. It’s the last show of the tour and it’s the last show for a long time.”

Grohl may have been referring specifically to the band’s European fans during the set, as the remaining 2012 gigs are all in the United States. The Foos will play a Rock the Vote event in Charlotte, N.C., on Sept. 5; the Music Midtown festival in Atlanta on Sept. 21; the Deluna Festival in Pensacola, Fla., on Sept. 22; and the Global Festival in New York’s Central Park on Sept. 29. After those shows, it seems the band will be taking a long break from the road.

Another noteworthy moment of the Foos’ set at the Reading Festival came when Grohl dedicated the song ‘These Days’ to his Nirvana bandmates — Krist Novoselic and the late Kurt Cobain. “I’d like to dedicate this song to a couple of people who couldn’t be here tonight. This one’s for Krist and this one’s for Kurt,” announced Grohl before the band launched into the song.

Clarifies Dave Grohl: Foo Fighters fired only from the scenarios... - spoon Sonica

Yesterday we got all a tremendous scare. When Dave Grohl said in the recent concert of the Foo Fighters at the Reading Festival, the Group was not going to play 'in good time', we all got in the worst of situations and then immediately think that the band was going to take a long break. However, Grohl has written today on the official Facebook of the Group and has clarified that only referred to again play for the United Kingdom:

In other words: Foo Fighters is not going to stop. This is bad news for the English public, which just has to wait a few months to receive again the kids, but not for the rest of the world. We are pleased that everything has been in an exaggeration for us all, because training is located in a splendid time.

The lead singer and guitarist told the Reading festival on Sunday that it was the Foo Fighters "last show of the tour and the last show for a long time".

Since then, numerous reports across social media networks and in the press have suggested everything from a lengthy absence by the band to an imminent split.

But Grohl's bemused frustration over the reaction shone through when he posted via the band's official account: "I was only talking TO England!! ABOUT England ..."

It's good news for fans in Northern Ireland because he did promise a return after the warm welcome for the Foos' debut performance, headlining the first night of Tennent's Vital in Belfast.

Recognising how long it had taken for the band to travel to Northern Ireland, Grohl apologised and added: "I promise it won't take so long for us to come back again."

At one point, he asked the 32,000-strong crowd if they got many concerts locally - prompting an overwhelming rumble of discontent.

"So that's why you guys are so much fun!" Grohl laughed.

About 120 complaints were made to Belfast City Council, and a further 20 to police, over the noise.

The gig, which ended promptly at 11pm, was reported to have been heard for miles around - a perk for rock fans without tickets, but less welcome in the households of light sleepers and early risers.

"I like to play my music loud - that's how proper rock and roll should sound." Grohl had declared during the concert, little knowing then the stir his band was about to cause.

The Foo Fighters later quoted AC/DC to their detractors via Facebook.

"A wise man once said ... Rock and Roll ain't noise pollution. Rock and Roll ain't gonna die."

The band have a number of scheduled gigs coming up in the US in September, including the Music Midtown Festival at Piedmont Park in Atlanta and Deluna Fest at Pensacola Beach, Florida.

It's thought they will take some time off after that, having been touring the world for a year - but nothing that should cause fans concern for the future.
